Which version? Look in your onconfig (version 7) or tbconfig (version
5) file and you should see some error messages in there.
The default place for this (and the usual place) is in
$INFORMIXDIR/etc.
The file will be either the contents of $ONCONFIG or $TBCONFIG.
if these are not set it will be onconfig.std (version 7) or
tbconfig.std (version 5).
