I found some problems with the Replace function that was posted earlier. If Source_String is null, the line: IF source_string[i, (i+old_len-1)] = old_pattern THEN etc.. BLOWS UP. Source_String is not checked anywhere. I haven't checked it completely yet. Just FYI.
