assert failures

We recently upgraded from 7.3 to 9.4.FC2 and since then we are getting
randon assert failures. Looking through the af file we find the common
thread is the "(oninit)sqoptim()" which appears in all our af files.
INFORMIX suggested its a problem with the optimiser and that we should
upgrade to UC3 but that is not feasible at the moment.Has anyone had this
problem?any workarounds?

We had a similar problem but maybe different with UC2 which is fixed in
UC3, something to do with internal data conversion of numeric fields to
varchars and chars. I can't be more specific than that I am afraid.
Any workaround is likely to be along the lines of trap the SQL that
causes it and either don't run it or adjust it so that it no longer
causes an assert failure, assuming it is the same SQL statement or set
of statements that cause it each time. This would probably mean a code
change for you. I really think upgrading to xC3 is your best option.
