It will help you (and us) a great deal to quote the name and version numbers of the products that interest you. Also, to include an informative subject line. This really helps people to research the same topic via search engines and newsgroup readers. >Which leads me to another question. Would I really be happier with the >dynamic server, and if so, why? If it meets your needs better, then you would be happier. If not, then not. Please list these needs, then compare the list to the features and complexities of the different products to find the best fit. The sales farce, uh, force is there specifically to help you do this. There is also some good information on the web site at http://www.informix.com . If it is not useful for you in this type of analysis, then report that to the sales channel and the "feedback" button on the web page. >Also, any informix workers out there, are you going to port to Irix >6.3? Our sales rep indicates that porting operates under the incorrect >assumption that Irix versions are consecutive, when in fact, they are >concurrent. I can't get ESQL/C to work at all on 6.3, I have to run it >on the old 6.2 machine. Sorry, I'm in flight and web-impaired at the moment and can't tell. The best way to find this kind of information is through the sales people. If they feel that the porting organization doesn't know something then they are in the best position to inform them. You should ask your sales rep to push that issue and find you the right answer.
