What version of IDS are you using. The is a known bug in earlier 7.31 (and
others) where very old pages cause a significant archive slowdown.

I wonder whether there are any ways to improve the speed of back up. I am
currently using ontape to back up the database to dell autoloader daily.
The back up time is about 4 hours for the database size of about 75 GB. Any
suggestion.

Could be.
But as Paul Watson pointed out, a 75Gbyte-in-4-hours thropughput is quite
respectable in anything less than industrial-strength drives.
