We have used all of the databases listed except for Sybase. I am a software development manager for a company that installs data collection applications on the factory floor of manufacturing facilities. My group is responsible for providing a set of tools that make this data collection easier. Part of these tools is our own 4gl (for manufacturing) that is database independent and currently works with Informix, Oracle, and Ingres. We've had quite a bit of experience with these so I could probably get the answers to most any question you might have. I can tell you this. Of the three database vendors listed, we are most happy with Informix. -- Bill Gaines ARPA: bill@IndComp.com Industrial Computer Corp. UUCP: ...!{gatech,emory}!iccdev!bill
