I'm mounting an sds Informix cluster in vmware. VMware 6 allows 2 methods for showing shared RAW disk between virtual machines: - RDM physical compatibility mode - RDM virtual compatibility mode The fisical compatibility mode seems like a normal shared disk. And the virtual compatibility mode has a virtualization layer that allows taking disk snapshots. Someone here has experience in vmware and Informix? Is the virtual compatibility mode worth? Taking snapshots of the virtual machine seems very usefull, but I don't know how much MORE performance I may loose. Any other hint's or warnings about running Informix in vmware would also be very very wellcome. Thanks in advance!
