Did anyone else notice the NewEra pricing near the end of one of the postings of the Informix NewEra press releases? For those that didn't it was: 4495 USD per client (read developer) for the development version 495 USD per client (read user) for the runtime I would be most interested to see some feedback from other Informix users on this pricing. The company that I work for is a small (10 programmers) software house with about 2 million lines of Informix-4GL code. We have patiently awaited the release of NewEra for about 3 years, seeing it as a way to enter the world of OOP and client-server while at the same time "leveraging" our investment in 4GL code. However that price will be too high for us. To be honest it seems to me that Informix has decided that it has "outgrown" our software house (which is their right), even though we have been responsible for several hundred thousand dollars of Informix run-time licence sales over the last 6 years.
