Hi Jack, Give my regards to Pete C. or do you report to Tony since you are on the East Coast? Any ways, back to the topic..... Just a heads up from your Uncle Mikey: The evil empire from Redmond would like you to believe that they have a superior product. The only thing that makes VB palatable is its price. For true RAD, as in radical and rapid, think about NeXTs now Apple's OpenStep and Web Objects. The current trend in development is to create intranet based apps. Thin client, aka browsers connected to content, aka your database application. Informix's current solution is ok but weak. (If it wasn't, there would be a price tag attached to it! ;-) There is a company with a product out called fusion (I think) which a demo copy is sent with stuff from Netscape. (Just another suggestion) BTW, this is industrial. Hit their web page and see who is using it. OH Yeah if you know C, then Objective C is only two weeks away, if that! Easy connection to Informix, Oracle, Sybase and ODBC. The trend should be away from VB VC++ J++ since it is client specific, read MicroSoft! For 80% of the applications out there, think thin client. -Just my $.02 worth. -Mikey PS. I predict that 4GL will still be used for development of new apps beyond the year 2000!
