VxFS: header info at beginning of drives?
Posted in 1997
We are using the standard VxFS file system that comes w/ Unixware 2.1 Recently we added some drives for our Informix Online databases. Very soon after adding tables to raw spaces on the drives we started to see corruption to various tables and indexes. We did not add any offset to the table spaces at the beginning of the drives to skip any possible drive header info. I was wondering if VxFS writes disk information at the beginning of the drives and if this might have caused the problem with corruption. If VxFS does write header info at the beginning of a drive, how much offset should I allow? Thanks for any help. -- * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ADDRESS ALTERED TO FOIL SPAMMERS: Remove "*NO-SPAM*" to reply.
