Do stats
Posted in 2006
A user asked where to find Art Kagel's statistics-generation scripts on the IIUG site. Kagel answered: go to www.iiug.org/software, choose 'Index...' then 'Database Administrator...', and download the utils2_ak package, which contains the dostats.ec ESQL/C source. A follow-up asked whether the posted version follows the older 7.2 UPDATE STATISTICS guidelines rather than John Miller's newer recommendations; Kagel confirmed the public release does, and said an unreleased newer version auto-detects server versions and follows the new guidelines, offering to email copies on request.

I know that Art C has a set of stats generating scripts ... and that they are somewhere on the iiug web site ... can someone send me the link? I can't seem to locate these out there. Thanks in advance. PDL
That would be me. Goto: www.iiug.org/software. Select 'Index...' then select 'Database Administrator...', then scroll down to utils2_ak and download that package. It contains the dostats.ec ESQL/C source. Art S. It contains the dostats.ec ESQL/C source. Art, does this handle the new performance recommendations? John Miller said, today, that you had a version for 9.4, but the info just says according to the 7.2 guidelines: http://www.iiug.org/software/archive/utils2_ak.README_10122004 Sincerely, Christopher Coleman Steering Committee President Kansas City Informix Users Group www.iiug.org/kciug Database Analyst Pharmacy Division Mediware Information Systems, Inc.
I have the next release. It's not ready for general release (couple of bugs and cleanups I haven't had time to get to), but it works, auto detects optimized server versions and generates different output adhering to John's new guidelines. I'll send it to you with a short list of 'however's if you send me your email address. Art S. Kagel ----- Original Message ----- From: Christopher.... <ids@iiug.org> At: 3/ 9 14:14 Art S.
