SAP on IDS

Hi, Please someone tell me if SAP runs on Informix? A reference or link to a company running such a setup would really be appreciated. can i also get list of other major companies running Informix Paul

Hi Paul - SAP runs Informix, however, they intend to drop support unless their Informix customers convince them to do otherwise. IBM maintains a site for customers who are willing to serve as reference customers for Informix (http://www-306.ibm.com/software/success/cssdb.nsf/ softwareL2VW? OpenView&Count=30&RestrictToCategory=dmmain_InformixDynamicServer). Your IBM rep can connect you with other customers who are willing to serve as references as well. Informix is run by most major U.S. retailers including the largest U.S. retailer and the U.S.'s most exclusive retailer. Informix is also run by most of the major telecom companies worldwide in various forms. Some use Informix for running the business (ERP type applications, etc.) while others use Informix in the equipment to manage lines, transmissions, billing, routing, messaging, etc. Informix is also a major player in vice industries such as gaming and explicit publishing. Hi Paul, We are running SAP R/3 (w/ modules except for BW) on Informix. Multi-terabyte landscape (dev, test, cert, prod). HP-UX with EMC. Not sure how much longer we will be using SAP, since the plan is to migrate to Oracle in the near future. Timothy A.
