I am using IDS 9.40, I get message informix log below, after I shutdown and take offline the database: 14:38:05 IBM Informix Dynamic Server Started. 14:38:05 shmget: [EEXIST][17]: key 52564801: shared memory already exists 14:38:05 mt_shm_init: can't create resident segment Could you help me how to kill shared memory that already exist without change SERVERNUM configuration and without 'restart' my Server and without initialized the instance ?

ipcrm will remove the segments, look for segments owned by user informix, but
you have to be careful if you have more than one IDS instance to not remove
segments belonging to running instances. Usually running 'onmode -ky' - as if
bringing the instance down - will remove any left over segments.

I am using IDS 9.40,
I get message informix log below, after I shutdown and take offline the
database:
14:38:05 IBM Informix Dynamic Server Started.
14:38:05 shmget: [EEXIST][17]: key 52564801: shared memory already exists
14:38:05 mt_shm_init: can't create resident segment
Could you help me how to kill shared memory that already exist without
change SERVERNUM configuration and without 'restart' my Server and
without initialized the instance ?
