Re: NewEra 3 Memory leak?

Hi Renee and Mark, I have not tried it but try this: Call a function in the wif of the window to open. Have this function do all the open, instantiation, etc. Then check the memory after the window is closed to see if the memory is recovered. NE prior to 2.0 had a memory leak when a window was open in an event such as the activate event of a button. If the window's reference pointer from the instantiation was local, the memory was not freed after the event. The workaround we used when I was at AT&T was to do all the other window's work in it's own wif. While at Menlo Park during Beta of NE 2.0 we (AT&T) showed the programmer the bug and he fixed it in a matter of minutes. This bug may have come have come alive. This method also removed all those those nasty INCLUDEs. It's a much cleaner way of organizing your code.
