RE: Make BLOBS go into the BLOB space
Posted in 2003
I don't know about trying this with an alter... but the final structure s/b like:
create table wds_store
(
wds_blob_id serial not null ,
wds_blob byte in new_blobspace, -- new blob space name
wds_mime varchar(50),
wds_desc varchar(50),
wds_blob_size char(12)
default '0',
primary key (wds_blob_id)
);
I've never tried this, but 'alter' maybe something like:
alter table wds_store modify
wds_blob byte in new_blobspace ;

Subject: Make BLOBS go into the BLOB space
I have a table -
create table wds_store
(
wds_blob_id serial not null ,
wds_blob byte,
wds_mime varchar(50),
wds_desc varchar(50),
wds_blob_size char(12)
default '0',
primary key (wds_blob_id)
);- that is taking up alot of space in our primary dbspace.
So I create a blobspace as outlined in the manual.
But I can't find any information on making the blobspace be utilized.
Do I need to drop and recreate this table to force the blobs over there,
or is there some alter statement I can perform?
