Display in GUI Updated by Transactions Elsewhere?

We are developing a GUI to display rows from a table, according to some selection criteria, using ESQL/C. Essentially what we get is a "snapshot" of the table when the "EXEC SQL SELECT..." statement is executed. My question is: when transactions by other users render the snapshot outdated, thus invalid, is there a way to trigger an updating action on the display, from the INFORMIX engine's end? Or do we need to constantly check the state of the table in a loop within GUI? Are there any other options? T.I.A. for any responses. With Regards, Pei-yu Huang
