RE: Problem with onbar using Networker 5.1 on Solaris
Posted in 1999
Hi, there ...
My name is Edwin M. Manalo and I'm currently working here for COMCAST Cellular
as UNIX Consultant. Part of my job is to implement Legato Networker backup of
their existing Informix-OnLine databases. We are using Networker 5.1 Build
103, Informix-OnLine DS 7.24.UC6, Solaris 2.5.1.
I implemented a whole system backup with onbar (onbar -b -w) - no logical logs
backup. Logical logs is pointed to /dev/null.
Database is quite big (more than 10 gigs). Now, my problem is with regards to
onbar backup. It is giving me an error message :
ERROR: Unable to get backup data from the database server: ISAM error: no free
disk space.
This error message was recorded to the /tmp/bar_act.log file. The first time
this error occurred, I noticed that the tempdbs dbspace is 100% full. Could
this be the reason why? Does onbar uses the tempdbs dbsapce during the actual
backup process? If yes, would increasing my tempdbs size eliminate this
problem?
Thanks a lot!
Edwin M. Manalo
