Upgrading Informix from Online engine to Dynamic Server

I have been talking with Informix about upgrading our site from the = 5.xx Online engine to 7.2x Dynamic Server. They said there was no cost = for the upgrade because we are on maintenance but they quoted us a = consulting fee of $2000 per day plus expenses and said that most of = their customers were using an Informix consultant to do the upgrade and = then tune. I know some of you have been through that conversion. Did = you use an Informix consultant? For how many days? What about a = Bi-Tech consultant? How smooth was the transition? Were there any = "gotchas" that we should be on the look-out for? Any info on this would = be appreciated. Thanks. ------------------------------------ Jane Vohden Database Administrator Fairbanks North Star Borough -------------------------------------
