remove a chunk from "rootdbsA"
Posted in 1999
A user on INFORMIX-OnLine 7.13.UC3 wanted to drop the second chunk (/home/informix/savdbs1) from their root dbspace, which is named "rootdbsA". The command `onspaces -d rootdbsA -p /home/informix/savdbs1 -o 0` kept failing with "DBspace/BLOBspace does not exist." Neil Truby asked for the onstat -d output, but after reviewing it could see nothing wrong with the dbspace/chunk layout or the syntax. A suggestion to try the name with a lower-case 'a' (rootdbsa) was tried and produced the same error. No resolution is recorded in the thread.

How are you trying to remove it now?
Can you provide an onstat -d listing, and an example of your onspaces
command for dropping the chunk

I'm sorry, I can't make sense of the onstat -d listing. Could you try
cutting and pasting it again?
thanks

NOP, after all that effort on your part, I'm afraid I can't see anything
wrong! Have you tried Mark Stock's suggestion of using a lower case 'A'?
