Re: EXPLAIN result diff. in TEST and REALITY

: In our TEST DB the result of a joined query and SET EXPLAIN is INDEX PATH : for the two tables. On our REAL enviroment this result is for one table : is SEQUENTIAL SCAN, and for the other one is INDEX PATH. Is this normal ?? : The query is awful slow, maybe thatsway ?? Hi, am I right that the ratio of nrows of the tables in your TEST and your REAL Environment differ? The Optimizer chooses his Query-Plan among other criteria by looking at the ratio of nrows of the joined tables. Maybe you can fool the Optimizer by adding dummy statements in the WHERE Condition, or altering your indexes that the most selective Column is named first, or a combination of these hints.
