need tables name of sysmaster database
Posted in 2009
A user asked which sysmaster (SMI) tables hold information on shared memory, checkpoints and their duration, logical logs, database status, and HDR/RSS status, plus any documentation. John Miller supplied the table names: syssegments, syscheckpoints, syslogs, sysshmvals and sysha_nodes. Art Kagel noted the best documentation is the commented DDL in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sysmaster.sql, since the manuals cover only some SMI tables, and also pointed to Lester Knutsen's SMI presentations on the IIUG/Advanced DataTools sites. The poster thanked the group.

Best documentation of the sysmaster tables is the DDL file that creates the database: $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sysmaster.sql Art On Mon, Mar 16, 2009 at 7:11 AM, OMER KHAN <oskhan@i2cinc.com> wrote: > Hello, > > i need table name of sysmaster database for getting values of following > items > > --Sheared memory > --Check points and its duration > --Logical log > --Database status > --HDR and RSS Status > > if there is any documentation of sysmaster database then also provide link > of > that document. > > Thanks > > > > ******************************************************************************* > Forum Note: Use "Reply" to post a response in the discussion forum. > > -- Art S. That's the Guide to SQL Reference manual. It covers some of the system catalog tables but not the sysmaster database SMI tables. The Administrator's Reference actually covers SOME of the SMI tables but only a small number and not the most important and useful ones. You can also get some information from Lester Knutsen's presentations on the SMI tables which you can get from the IIUG web site from last year's conference or from Lester's company website at: http://www.advancedatatools.com/TechInfo/InformixInfo.html. However, as I said, the actual DDL file's comments are the best source of information.
