Hi, Suggested by my colleagues, I would like share some of scripts which I have written for DBA's daily working. I posted them on my personal website: http://dbmonitor.topcities.com I am also thinking to pack them and upload to IIUG. Hope you like them. Thanks. Kent, Thank you for the additional scripts and I've now got the stats gathering and loading working after a fashion. Some of the scripts were line wrapped at column 80 and I'm still correcting them. Having trouble with the ODBC link but nearly there also. You use "sar -d" and "sar -M" within your scripts which are not supported options on AIX 4.3.3. Do any of the gurus out there know what the equivalent commans are in AIX 4.3.3 ? Earle, If you want use those script interactively, idealy, you should X- terminal which can easily enlarge your window. The command "sar -M" used in script is to calculate the number of CPUs on host, you can use "sar -P all" on AIX and "mpstat" on Solaris. The command "sar -d" is only valid on HP-UX for disk I/O information, you can use iostat in other Unix platform. Since the output of these utilities on different Unix are quite different, it may be not as simple as just change this command to make some the scripts work on other Unix platforms. Unfortunately, I don't have those environment to port them. But the idea of the scripts could be used to port them to other Unix platforms. Hope this is helpful to you. Thanks.
