I have an update stats shell script. Not sure how it compares to the one you mention... It has less functionality than Art's dostats, but it should run "as is" in any Unix like platform. If you want to take a look at it: http://onlinedomus.com/informix/viewvc.cgi/PUBLIC/informix/scripts/updstats/ The readme is too old... tbl_updstats is for one table dbs_updstats is for a whole database or a set of tables (calls tbl_updstats) each will answer a "-h" with the help... it should be enough to get you started... dostats is THE utility for update statistcs... It's written in ESQL/C and you'll need to compile it. Dostats is included in the package called utils2_ak Ernest. It is, as stated, ESQL/C. There is dostats.ec (for Informix versions earlier than 10.00) and dostats_ng.ec (which is for 10.00 and later and is compiled by default by the makefile). The package also contains drive_dostats a shell script that can divide your database into multiple sets of tables for dostats to update in parallel.
