Setting term/TERM to vt100 is a possible poor workaround, but I heard from a friend, that this problem was known for at least 5 years now... Setting your term to vt100 is probably one of the best ideas you have. :-) The tools work in an Xterm, however your TERMCAP'should also be set to either /etc/termcap or $INFORMIXDIR/etc/termcap, depending on which one actually works. This is not a unique malady to Xterm. Certain platforms for whatever reasons have difficultly displaying the graphics characters, but worse case they will still display the standard character display. You may have to describe a more specific problem to get a more specific answer, so I hope this helps you. We are running on HP-UX 10.20, Informix 7.2. And I truely HATE using hpterm. This platform should have a termcap that will work for you. As the group would suggest, RTFM. :-) You might enjoy reading a book I saw in a bookstore for UNIX haters. They really railed about termcap and terminal settings. You can also refer to the docs that come with an NCD'xterm. They cover a lot of information generic to many xterms. -- Gabor Kincses (gabor@acm.org) Powered by FreeBSD 2.1.5 Tim Schaefer tschaefe@mindspring.com March issue of INXUTIL'Ezine:http://www.mindspring.com/~tschaefe
