Re: Q: How is the transactional behaviour in an Informix DB implemented?

Filip, Informix supports XA if that's what you're after. We use 7.22 with Tuxedo 6.3. There are some restrictions on what statements you can use in your Tuxedo servers, since Tuxedo (or whatever TM) now manages the transactions and the connections: you can't commit, rollback, connect, disconnect, set connection, etc, etc. Also, not all versions support XA, check with Informix support. How these protocols are implemented in Informix: you'd have to ask Informix support but they probable won't tell you :-). There is a single library though (libinfxxa.a/.so) and a header file called xa.h with the definition of the xa switch structure which you link/include with your servers/application programs.
