To meet the legal requirements, they have to show that there is no US citizen who is willing to do the job, so no US citizen is being deprived of a job by an alien (the charming term used for people who are not US citizens). The lack of response to adverts such as this satisfies the government bean-counter that the alien is doing work which can't be done by a US citizen, so an appropriate visa (or green card?) can be issued. One key tip-off; the posting includes the salary. Genuine job postings seldom do... This may be different since it is a federal position; it may just show that the government is stingy with its pay to its minions. > MS CARLEEN C AVANT wrote: > > > > FEDERAL JOB OPENING FOR INFORMIX DBA AT NAVAL SAFETY CENTER IN NORFOLK, > > VIRGINIA. > > > > PERMANENT POSITION. > > > > RELOCATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID. > > > > SERIES/GRADE: GS-0334-11/12 > > > > SALARY: $35,786 TO $42,890 ANNUALLY. > > > > Exciting opportunity to migrate Naval Safety Center Corporate Database from > > Informix 5.0 to 7.x residing on state-of-the-art SUN/SOLARIS environment.
