M> Ideally one which prompts for whether the uses wants to insert tabs / spaces > for the indents. I developed a program which I call InFormatter when I had my own software company. To date, I have kept it as a proprietary tool- I haven't released it to Public Domain or shareware. It took quite a bit of work, so I'm not sure what I would want to do about it. It does: * know about all Informix keywords * allow indenting using either tab or spaces (up to 8) * handle multiple-level indents properly * allow keywords to be upshift, downshift, or first letter upshift * allow variables to be upshift, downshift, or first letter upshift (independantly of keywords) * output the "nice" version to a different file * work on any platform * work with RDS/C code version/SE/OnLine * require a C compiler in order to compile some C routines Currently, InFormatter consists of 90% Informix 4GL code with the remainder being C code using for optimum line parsing. In the least, I'd be able to give you some tips regarding what I did. Maybe I could be talked into something more... Tim --- ~ SPEED 1.40 [NR] ~
