EMC Data Domain and Informix
Answered: amber (solid confidence) — Jonathan Smaby confirmed he successfully uses onbar with an EMC Data Domain target via Networker as the storage manager, directly contradicting EMC's claim that onbar can't be used; never explicitly confirmed by Mark.

Is anyone using EMC/DD as the storage manager with onbar and IDS? We're
getting "interesting" feedback from EMC on it's usage and essentially they are
saying "onbar can't be used." Find that just a bit hard to believe.
Any feedback greatly appreciated!

Mark,
Good morning.
I use Informix IDS 12.10.FC5W with EMC Networker 8.3.2 with a EMC Data-Domain
DD670. I use onbar to backup to the Data Domain via Networker. The Data-Domain
itself isn't a storage-manager, I use Networker as the storage-manage and the
Data-Domain as the storage target.
If you would like more information, you're welcome to reach out to me offline.
I hope this is helpful.
