SO, my question is, does anyone have PERFORM screens that access > all or part of the sys. cat. If so, I'd love to hear from you. You can create your own PERFORM screens for system tables. Just type in the name of the system table (that is, you can't pick it out of the menu.) If you foul up what's in the system tables via these screens you may get in real trouble. I can see Informix not supporting your changes (to the wise, a word is sufficient!) Platinum sent me a nifty poster which diagrams the system tables, their inter-relationships, and even the SMI pseudo-tables. I'm not endorsing their RDBMS products, but the poster is pretty neat. You can get it (I guess) via: voice: 1-800-442-6861 email: info@platinum.com www: www.platinum.com ask for the poster titled: "SMI and System Catalog Tables for Informix-OnLine Dynamic Server 7.1" > I don't know what I can offer in return, but if I see you, I'll buy you > a drink or three. Always remember to stand up slowly You betcha.
