Memory leaks in ESQL/C
Posted in 1993
Does anyone have a definitive list of memory leaks caused when using ESQL/C? I've written a database server that does lots of prepares and things, and it comes down after a few days because of these leaks. My customer is going to be hopping mad; he wants 24x7xForever runtimes. I've already controlled one leak: if you prepare statements with uniquely generated statement names, you lose memory each time: the only workaround is to reuse statement names. But there is clearly at least one other leak in there. If anyone has insight into memory leaks and can suggest workarounds, patches, or other help, I'd appreciate it. I hope to get my service contract with Informix straightened out soon and then scream at them until they bleed fixes for these things, but I need working code sooner than that. Thanks!
