00 in dates

While we are in the "What is the year 2000" vein... What will/does Informix do with the date format MM/DD/YY and its variants where the year is 00. How will it distinguish between 1900 and 2000? Will we have to change things to display 4 digits? How would it handle the math if no change is made, what will be the ASSUMPTION?
