RE: Mirroring Informix database across a network

I don't know what version of Informix supports it, but you want to use replication. This allows a primary server to be read/write and update a second server with any changes done to the first. The secondary server is read only and can be automatically switched over to if need be. The administration guides provide for more detail on how do this, however I think it is only available with later version of the engine (6+). Let me know if you need additional information, since we have replication running currently. Also, the storage space for the data must be identical, but the machines don't have to be. ...Michael... }-----Original Message----- }From: napier@theory.chem.ubc.ca [SMTP:napier@theory.chem.ubc.ca] }Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 1997 4:01 PM }To: informix-list@rmy.emory.edu }Subject: Mirroring Informix database across a network } }Hi, } }I was wondering if anybody could suggest a strategy for mirroring a copy of } an Informix database on two seperate machines connected over a network.
