Not only did I install Oracle and Informix on the same Sparc 20, but I also installed Sybase as well.....and they all worked with client/server connect ta boot. I no longer work for this company, so this is recall. But, I had to modify the system file to increase the shared memory, if I remember correctly. This, of course, required that I reboot the machine and consequently bother everybody. Their was another quirk: they had to be started in a certain order because Oracle the memory pig stepped on the other databases' memory. Otherwise than that, I can't think of anything important. I do remember other applications having difficulty when attempting to start because their where no more semiphores. Later, Daniel S. Hayes dsh070161@aol.com PS - I am currently looking for work. However, I would like to move onto OOP/OOA/OOD. This does, however, not necessarily exclude working with Informix (my favorit DB, BTW). Check the spelling, its late.
