You haven't been reading this group enough to know that it's one of the friendliest places around - as long as you don't support an off brand RDBMS like Oracle ( ;-) ). Your original post read between the lines: "I have to sound like I know what I'm talking about tomorrow at a job interview - feed me the cliff notes so that I can get the job." To which the proper answer is if you don't know the answers don't try to sound like you do - go in and say "I've never worked with Informix, I have worked with x, y and z and am anxious to learn more." I can well understand a knee-jerk reaction of "no way". Unfortunately in this age of fast fingers and immediate reply capability such reactions tend to fly out the door before we've had a chance to moderate them. I'm sorry if you feel you were flamed without cause. Once you get the job we will be happy to help you and answer any questions you may have. If you would like advice on how to get a job using Informix products and where to learn more on using them - we get those all the time and always answer them very politely - and with real help instead of "go jump in a lake." cheers j. _____________________________________________________________________________ Jack Parker - Hewlett Packard, BSMC Boise, Idaho, USA jparker@hpbs3645.boi.hp.com _____________________________________________________________________________ "Character is what you are in the dark" - Emilio Lizardo _____________________________________________________________________________ Any opinions expressed herein are my own and not those of my employers. _____________________________________________________________________________
