Keep in mind the fundamental difference between the Informix Replication and Praxis: Praxis - trigger based Informix - logfile based The trigger based method can be slower than the log file method Informix uses, so I would only recommend a third-party product for disparate, or heterogeneous platforms. For complex replication across disparate systems, i.e. Informix-to-Oracle, you will need to either invent your own replication scheme, ending up with something <= Praxis, or other repl product, and maybe miss something. I could be wrong, if Informix is now supporting other-than-informix data bases to replicate. Bi-directional replication is where things can really get crazy. Unless you are a replication expert, you should retain a replication expert, or get Praxis ( or who-ever ) working, and learn about all the other things about replication you didn't think about that Praxis did. The science of replication is not unlike understanding Banyan trees.
