The tables will by default be created where the database was
originally created. That means you have to create the database in the
dbspace where you want these "work" tables to end up.
You shouldn't create any database in the root dbspace anyway, so this
should be ok. Also remember all other tables may still be created in
any dbspace you may want to so it's easy to keep enough free space in
the dbspace where you create the database. Appart from these "work"
tables that you can't control the location for, all that have to be in
the dbspace where you create the database is the system tables for
that database. They are not very large though.
If you want to move a database from one dbspace to another on easy way
is to use dbexport and then dbimport. When using dbimport you simply
type:
dbimport databasename -d dbspacename
This will create the database without loging which you probably want
to turn on after the import is ok.
