Assuming you are using RAW devices, Jay, KAIO should be the default on
AIX. To turn it off create the environment variable KAIOOFF (most set
this to '1' but it is it's existence that is important not it's value;
if it exists KAIO is turned off). If I am wrong and the default is
no KAIO, as on HP, then create the environment variable KAIOON to
enable KAIO. These must be set in the environment that starts the
oninit program.
