Thanks to everyone that replied! I passed the suggestions about the extents along to the DBA - I don't have access to change the extents, drop tables, etc. I did finally get it to work as expected by making dbload lock the whole table and commit every 1000 rows. (It took about 6 minutes for all 680000 rows) BTW - I'm watching her re-load the tables for the instance on the box, and as she drops and re-loads tables with dbload, it's going pretty quickly...
