DLT3XT tapes and archives---blocksize and capacity?

We are experimenting with DLT2000 tape drives and DLT3XT tapes. Is anyone doing this? What is the maximum that these tapes will hold on an Informix archive (Online version 5)? What is the optimal blocksize? The drive documentation says 30GB (15GB with 2x compression), but we have 4mm tape drives which have a 4GB limit (which we code for in tbconfig), and we use about 20 of them to backup a 44GB database. We havent tried bumping it up only because we dont want to lose the archive because of running out of tape. Does anybody have better experiences with either of these tapes?
