You can split rows of the array over two or more lines. We do that all the time. If you do want to display somewhere else do your display in an appropriate before field or after field statement. This kind of display often is a problem however. For new rows you have to wait until the user has typed something - meaning until the cursor is moved to the next field. At that time it is often also moved to the next row, sometimes a blank, sometimes one containing other data. In both cases it's not very clear what should be displayed in the extra fields. That's why we tend to use two or more lines instead. Some people have asked for horisontal scrolling which isn't available in 4GL. I (meaning my users) like the multi line stuff better as all data is allways viewable and there is no need for complex operations to scroll back and forth to see it. >(hmmm, is this making sense ?? - English is not my born language) No problem. >To clarify, this is what I would like to present to the user: > > Title Cat. > [Blade Runner ] [Science Fic..] > [Terminator ] [Action ] > [Gone with the wind] [Love story ] > [ ] [ ] > ------------------------------------ > Starring Rel. > [Ford, Harrison ] [1984] <-- These are field_3 and field_4 > From the Blade runner record > They will change when the user > scrolls down to Terminator > > >Could anyone give me a hint, on how this could be made - Any help would >be appriciated. > >Thanks in advance.. > > >Jorgen Lehmann > >jll@nst.dk >---------- Nils Myklebust NM Data AS Norway E-mail: Nils.Myklebust@nmdata.com FAQ at: Primary with ODBC info: http://www.smooth1.demon.co.uk Official site http://www.iiug.org/techinfo/faq/faq_top.html
