monitoring flow of data on the net

Can Somebody tell me which software i can use to understand the charge of my net? I'd like to know how much data, which select ..... each PC is doing at each moment. I need something to find out the bottlenecks. I read of DBcockpit, but i don't know if it's something suitable for my needs. I'm talking about Informix Online 6.0 under Unix system V and some PC (win95) connected via esql. MOre. Which are the main differences between OnLine 6.x and 7.x?
