Sometimes I have been able to get rid of the problems by cleaning out the system tables of all references to "phantom tables" (risky move, though). Most times, I've had to call Support. They called in, twiddled some bits with the (infamous) tbpatch program, and all was well. What they did is change the bits that indicated what type of space it was....for some reason, it was easiest if they made OnLine think that these were BLOB-spaces.... Call support.
