NewEra and PB are both gui client/server tools but they are very different as development tools. NewEra uses an OO language with procedural support whereas PB uses a procedural language with OO support. This is an important distinction. It is not good to develop procedurally in NE and vice-versa in PB. Therefore the choice is really dependant on your development methods. Secondly, NewEra's development tools are immature compared to PowerBuilder and this is no surprise because NE is only just over a year old. If they are used correctly, both products can deliver.
