Setnet32 not accepting protocol "group"

I can't get an HDR SQLHOSTS group working in Windows with Client-SDK 3.50.TC1. In Unix or Linux, it would be represented in a flat "sqlhosts" file like this (using an example from the IDS Administrator's Guide): # server protocol host service options g_hdr group - - i=1 hdr_prim ontlitcp machine1pri port1 g=g_hdr hdr_sec ontlitcp machine1sec port1 g=g_hdr Setnet32 and Windows ODBC data source setup dialogues are not accepting "group" in the protocol field. If I update the protocol directly using "regedit" and then try to use the data source in Excel, it brings up an ODBC dialogue with protocol apparently blank and won't let me proceed. There has only been one previous posting on this which was never properly answered: http://groups.google.com/group/comp.databases.informix/browse_thread/thread/2d49efa9ff477e5a?q=setnet32+hdr I thought I had this working as a proof-of-concept with an earlier Client-SDK version. If you have a solution, please email me as well as replying to the group Many thanks, Doug Lawry
Hi, I can see CQ defect idsdb00150538 fixed in 3.50.xC2 which points to same problem: ODBC cannot be used for a connection to HDR over a group entry Kollol, can you verify the problem stated here so that we can say it is fixed in 3.50.xC2. Many thanks - good news. I'll get hold of TC2 ASAP and give it a try. Thanks also to Vinoy who discussed this with me offline.
