Re: Informix Online DS on HP9000 with LVM?

I would suggest that you set up a test system, as close as possible to your real system, and do some benchmarking yourself. There is also an good book put out by Informix called 'Informix Database Administrator's Survival Guide'. This book briefly explains what it feels are the questions you have to ask yourself before you decide what type of RAID/Mirror/Strip system you use. Where the Informix manuals spell out the what's, this book responds with the why's and how's. I have found a lot of useful information, and I am only up to page 70. Even after attending Informix's own DB admin classes :-) the book is put out by INFOMIX Press and published by Prentice Hall PTR. It is written by Joe Lumbley.
