I'll say about 400-600 people showed out. Some _very_ impressive TPC-C benchmarks numbers were mentioned for HP, SUN, and DEC boxes. But due to my normally bad memory, I cannot give any real numbers(so please don't flame me for my bad memory). They had a Sun SparcCenter-2000 with 20 cpus on the stage running some app. (I think the app was a real-world app. from one of the beta test customers). They started out with 4 cpus and gradually ramped up to 20 cpus, the server scaled beatifully utilizing all 20 cpus evenly(unless they tweaked the perf. monitor:-) ). They also had IS directors from Bankers Trust, Swiss Banc, Nielson(sp?, they do tv ratings/surveys), and PeopleSoft singing praises about the perf. improvement and stability(which is important to me). There's performance impovement across the board, from index builds, bcps, db dumps/loads, complex queies, to dbcc......and we are not talking about improvements of just 50% but hundreds of percents. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that don't even bother trying to refute what people say about Oracle because System XI is going to kick some serious a__. Personally I can't wait go get my hands on it :). Chow, John
