Georgi,
yes that is possible. I did it for a couple of customers with older
informix versions and EMC disk arrays over 10 years ago.
You might need to have some considerations depending on your chunks
names and other things but it is doable.
I am not sure what you meant with your second question "can I bring
other servers........", can you please elaborate a bit more?
If you have any other questions please let me know.
Thanks

Hi I mean to -start- this new instances. so my idea is using links to do this : on primary server have: $INFORMIXDIR/links/chiunk1->/data/ifx1/chunk1 on second instance have: $INFORMIXDIR/links/chiunk1->/data/ifx2/chunk1 on other host to have same like primay: $INFORMIXDIR/links/chiunk1->/data/ifx1/chunk1 and during the night to replace second two with copies from snapshot from primary server. I know that it is not needed to make copies of this snapshot and to just use 1 snapshot in read write for all instances and to have just delatas but this is not exactly backup solution, so I prefer to have copies. We using 3PAR for storage.
I think you love Informix even more than me...
