load module error...
Posted in 2011
On IDS 11.50.FC5/AIX 6.1, the online log repeatedly showed "The C Language Module .../po_iter/poiter.bld can't load - Cannot access library file" for a path (/ifmx_m/ifmxpom01/...) that didn't exist; the shared library actually lived under $INFORMIXDIR/extend/po_iter. Respondents identified these as user-defined C routines whose registered library path was stale after the server was migrated, and advised checking sysprocedures and simply re-registering (dropping/recreating) the UDRs with the correct path. The poster confirmed two sysprocedures rows still held the old path and asked whether he could edit them manually; no answer to that last question is recorded.

This is probably a silly question or issue, but we are running:
IDS 11.50.FC5
AIX 6.1.3.0
INFORMIXDIR=/dbengines/informix_11.50FC5
All,
I am seeing the following errors in the online log:
08:02:42 Loading Module
</ifmx_m/ifmxpom01/fs_server/extend/po_iter/poiter.bld>
08:02:42 (2): The C Language Module
</ifmx_m/ifmxpom01/fs_server/extend/po_iter/poiter.bld> can't load
reason: Cannot access library file
08:02:42 (-1): ERROR: Loading Module
</ifmx_m/ifmxpom01/fs_server/extend/po_iter/poiter.bld>
08:02:42 Loading Module
</ifmx_m/ifmxpom01/fs_server/extend/po_iter/poiter.bld>
The module is under /dbengines/informix_11.50FC5/extend/po_iter.
Question: Is this from Informix somewhere or from the application
causing these errors?
I believe it's from the application, but want to verify that fact.
Thanks,

The user is still pointing to the wrong name of the library, so it's not
Informix. The application needs to find where they have the code that
is trying to access the module, correct.
They are looking for: /ifmx_m/ifmxpom01/fs_server/extend/po_iter
We have placed it in: /dbengines/informix_11.50FC5/extend/po_iter
Thanks,

Check the definitions of the UDRs in sysprocedures. It may be that the
incorrect location was entered when the functions were defined - or was the
server moved?

Yes:
Use dbschema -ss -f <procname> for each to get the definitions of the
procedures, modify the path in the SQL, drop the procedures and recreate
them using the modified SQL. You can't update the sysprocedures records
directly (even if you could, you'd have to immediately bounce the server for
the change to be effective). The drop and create will take effect
immediately.
