Please don't confuse the column systables.version with the version of
the engine or database. Systables.version is incremented when you
UPDATE STATISTICS for a table, maybe at other times as well.
I think that I remember the engine/DB version being stored as a character
string in the owner column. As Mike A. pointed out, tabname = " VERSION",
not "version" as I misremembered. Note the leading space, and that
"version" is a valid table name.
