Byte Vs BLOB

Hi, 1) Can someone please tell me the differences between Byte and BLOB data type in Informix. (Reading through the manual, both sound similar to me) 2) If I need to store an image, we can use both Byte and BLOB. So, which to choose? Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Blobs can be referenced by multiple rows. Bytes stored in blob space blobs are not logged. Blobs can be logged.
